Augustina Hone, PMHNP-BC

Augustina "Auggy" Hone, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Zalfi providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management to adults throughout Indiana.

Auggy believes patients should be active participants in their mental health care. She takes a collaborative approach to treatment, taking time to understand each patient's concerns, experiences, and goals before developing an individualized treatment plan.

Her goal is to create an environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their mental health and asking questions about their treatment. When medication is appropriate, Auggy works with patients to find a treatment plan they understand and feel comfortable with while carefully considering effectiveness and potential side effects.

Auggy has extensive experience in psychiatric nursing and has worked as a nurse practitioner across outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient (PHP/IOP) settings. She also has extensive training in trauma-based care.

Auggy also brings a trauma-informed and person-centered perspective to psychiatric care, recognizing that each patient's experiences and circumstances can influence their mental health and treatment needs.

Auggy has more than seven years of psychiatric nursing experience and experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in outpatient, inpatient, and PHP/IOP settings.

Your first appointment with Auggy focuses on understanding your current concerns, symptoms, mental health and medical history, previous treatment experiences, and goals for care.

Auggy works collaboratively with you to discuss treatment options and develop an individualized plan. If medication is recommended, she will discuss the purpose of the medication, potential benefits and risks, and any questions or concerns you may have.

Ongoing appointments focus on your progress, response to treatment, potential side effects, and whether adjustments may be appropriate as your needs change.
